Jane has been practising family law for over 22 years. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.
Jane is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Children Panel and advises in complex children matters, with a particular emphasis on public law (care cases). Jane has extensive experience of dealing with all types of cases within this arena but specifically on non-accidental injury cases, where a number of medical experts are often instructed. Jane acts for parents but also acts for the children through their Court appointed guardian. In some instances, children are separately represented from their guardian and Jane is skilled at acting for children independently, particular teenagers.
Wherever possible, Jane undertakes her own advocacy, this provides her clients with continuity and support through a difficult legal process.
Jane’s experience enables her to sensibly and robustly advise her client’s through, often protracted proceedings, ensuring at all times that their vulnerabilities and needs are addressed. When acting for children, Jane will ensure that ‘their voice is heard’ in the Court arena.
Jane has acted in Secure Accommodation applications, alongside matters relating to Deprivation of Liberty.
In addition, to managing a diverse caseload of complex public law proceedings, Jane also undertakes adoption, special guardianship and residence/contact disputes.
